Australia rugby league fullback Brett Stewart appeared in Manly Local Court on Tuesday and entered not guilty pleas to sex charges relating to a 17-year-old girl.
The 24-year-old Manly player was charged with sexual intercourse without consent and assault with an act of indecency involving the girl after his National Rugby League club's season launch on March 6.
Magistrate Margaret Quinn adjourned the matter to May 26 in downtown Sydney's Downing Centre Local Court and continued Stewart's bail conditions.
Stewart, who represented Australia at the rugby league World Cup last year, was suspended for the first four matches of the season by NRL chief executive David Gallop for a code of conduct breach.
Manly, the reigning NRL and World Club champion, is winless after the first four rounds of the Australian domestic season.
