If online sales are anything to go by, next weekend's final of the national league between the Dunedin Thunder and the Canterbury Red Devils at the Dunedin Ice Stadium should be sold out.
Thunder marketing manager Megan Kliegl said about 400 tickets had been snapped up via the team's Facebook page.
The venue has a capacity of 1000 and Kliegl urged fans to get their tickets quickly or risk being disappointed.
''They are going faster than any other tickets we have tried to sell,'' Kliegl said.
''We're banking on it [a full house]. Those 400 tickets have been sold to people who follow the Thunder on Facebook and does not include any door sales.
''Once we start to get word out about tickets being available ... no doubt sales will pick up.
''The team is buzzing but Janos [Kaszala, the coach] is trying to keep a cap it. They are trying to carry on as normal as possible.
"After their two huge wins [against the West Auckland Admirals] in the weekend, all 24 them of them were on the ice on Monday training. That is the sort of determination they have.''
It will not be the first time the final has been staged in Dunedin.
Before the Thunder entered the league in 2008, the Southern Stampede played some of its home games at the Dunedin Ice Stadium, and beat the Admirals 2-1 and 6-3 at the venue in 2005 to claim the inaugural title.
The Stampede defended its title in Auckland the following year and was runner-up in 2009, 2011 and 2012.
The Thunder is making its first appearance in the final.
