New Zealand international defender Winston Reid scored his first goal for West Ham United as the Premier League strugglers crushed Burnley 5-1 at Upton Park on Monday to reach the FA Cup quarterfinals.
Reid, who scored an own goal for his club in a Premier League fixture earlier this month, opened his account at the right end of the field to head home a Thomas Hitzlsperger corner to put West Ham 4-0 up.
German midfielder Hitzlsperger, playing his first game for the club, gave the hosts an early lead and two neat finishes by Carlton Cole put them three ahead before Reid's header.
Jay Rodriguez grabbed a consolation goal for the Championship side, before a late strike from Freddie Sears sealed the result.
The Hammers will travel to Premier League rivals Stoke City in the quarterfinals.
