Durante, 32, who joined Wellington in 2008, says the decision to re-sign until the end of the 2015-16 season was an easy one.
"There have been some great times and some difficult periods, but I have taken something from every experience and loved my time at the Phoenix," he said.
Sydney-born Durante has taken out New Zealand citizenship and made his international debut in the All Whites' 2-0 win over Solomon Islands in Honiara in March 2013.
