New Zealand's Jesse Sergent has won a silver medal in the individual pursuit while the women's team pursuit set a world record in claiming bronze at the track cycling world championships in Denmark.
Sergent lost the rideoff for gold to American defending world champion Taylor Phinney over 4000m.
The Feilding rider was the fastest qualifier after posting a time of four minutes 15.988 seconds while Phinney, his Trek Livestrong teammate in the US, recorded 4min 16.102sec.
The 21-year-old Sergent could not match that time in the final when he recorded 4min 18.469sec but he still had the satisfaction of winning his country's first medal in the men's individual pursuit at the world championships.
New Zealand have three women's individual pursuit world titleholders in Madonna Harris in 1990, Sarah Ulmer in 1994 and Alison Shanks in 2009.
The women's team pursuit combination of Rushlee Buchanan, Shanks and Lauren Ellis beat the United States in the rideoff for bronze, in the process going under the former world mark of 3min 21.875sec set last year by Great Britain.
They posted a time of 3min 21.552sec for the 3000m event over 12 laps.
The New Zealand trio were third fastest in qualifying behind gold medallists Australia and Great Britain.
