Green Island 79 lost to Taieri 81 for three by seven wickets

Green Island could muster only 79 when it batted first at Memorial Park.

It lost wickets at regular intervals and at 39 for seven was struggling to get to 50. But some sensible batting by a couple of members of the lower order got Green Island through to 79 when it was dismissed at the start of the 32nd over.

Marcus Frost took three wickets in an effort in which all the Taieri bowlers contributed.

Taieri lost Harsh Visavadiya early but the target was small and it was untroubled to reach the target in the 21st over.

Beckham Wheeler-Greenall and Cam McAuslan got the Taieri side through to the winning score.

North East Valley 162 lost to Kaikorai 163 for four by six wickets

North East Valley could not get much going with the bat against Kaikorai at Bayfield Park.

The side was all out for 162. Sam Tallot scored 42 at the top of the order for the Valley side and Travis Muller scored 46. But it was not enough to be competitive and Kaikorai ran the total down with relative ease.

Kaikorai was 16 for three wickets and the Valley side was sniffing a surprise win.

But those thoughts quickly ended when Charlie Caldwell and Taine Bayly came together for a 99-run partnership.

When Caldwell left just after scoring his half-century, Matt Hunter came to the crease and he stayed with Bayly to guide the side to the target.

Bayly was unbeaten on 72, bowled 10 economical overs, took three catches and was part of a run out.

Bailey Andrews-Kennedy took a couple of wickets for North East Valley to give his side hope at the start.

University-Grange 115 lost to Albion 116 for four by six wickets

In a game which failed to get out of first gear, Albion had a relatively straightforward win over University-Grange at Tonga Park.

University-Grange could not get much going with the bat and was dismissed in 45 overs for 115.

The outfield was slow, which was expected, and the Albion bowlers delivered a good line. Wickets were shared around and there were two run outs.

Albion reached the target in the 23rd over. Jack Coman recorded an unbeaten 43 as his side was under little pressure.
