The Sparks, who are yet to win a game this season, slumped to 36 for five before Kylie Crowley (35 not out) and Natasha Miles (25) put on a good partnership to get Otago through to 95 for six.
But that was never going to be enough with Auckland making light work of the chase.
Stafanie Taylor and Samantha Curtis put on 73 for the opening wicket. Curtis eventually holed out on 18 but had done her part. She was the perfect foil for the aggressive Taylor, who thrashed 60 from 52 deliveries before getting out with victory in sight. Maddy Green hit a boundary from the last delivery of the 14th over to seal the win.
On Saturday, the Sparks were well-beaten in the one-day game. Katey Martin top-scored with 26 and Miles made a fighting 20. Suzie Bates (14) and Alane Kane (11) were the only Otago batsmen to reach double figures in a disappointing innings which saw the side post a paltry 103.
Auckland strolled to an eight-wicket with Taylor scoring an undefeated 36 and Green playing a good supporting role with 30 not out.
