Cricket: Rain hits T/20 games

The HRV Cup domestic T20 game between Central Districts and the Canterbury Wizards that was to be played at Pukekura Park in New Plymouth today has been abandoned without a ball being bowled.

Poor weather in Taranaki meant no play was possible and each team receives two competition points for the abandonment.

The game in Dunedin between the Otago Volts and the Northern Knights is under way after a delay owing to rain.  At last report Otago, batting first, were 77 for five aff 12 of their 20 overs.

Central are scheduled to play Auckland at Pukekura Park tomorrow.
