North Otago made a splash on the opening day of the New Zealand under-18 men’s tournament in Wellington yesterday.
Toby Hunt, a year 12 pupil at Waitaki Boys’, poured in 46 points as North Otago shocked Taranaki 103-78.
Otago suffered a 99-84 loss to Manawatu.
In the women’s tournament, Otago were beaten 67-38 by Counties-Manukau.
