The gremlins got into last week’s report of Gore athletes at the national track and field championships.

In addition to the excellent performances, by Max McGregor, Riley Wilson and Lauren Muir, other athletes put in great efforts as well.

St Peter’s College student Millie McFadzien, 16, finished second in the under-18 2000m steeplechase and was also second in the under-18 4×400m relay.

She was fourth in the 3000m and 12th in the 1500m.

She set a personal best by 12sec in the steeplechase and 11sec in the 1500m.

Ava Wiegersma, 17, did well in the under-18 high jump, overcoming the rain to win a bronze medal.

Menzies College student Zoe Muir, 14, won a gold medal in the under-16 javelin, clinching the win thanks to a personal best.

She also joined with Millie to be part of the side which won the bronze medal in the 4×400m relay.
