The show, presented by the Gore Garden Club, will be held at the Senior Citizens rooms on Ardwick St on February 22.
Gardeners are invited to enter their finest flowers and vegetables, with prizes being awarded to the best in show.
Convener Janet Brewster said the event sat perfectly in their schedule between larger events, and wanted people to come and show off their gardening skills.
"This is a one-off mini show because the big show we normally have fell through, so we’re filling in the interim because in 2026 we’re going to be hosting the national dahlia show, and that’s a real colourful experience.
"So as an interim measure, and to show something different, we thought we’d run this show and encourage vegetable growing as well as flowers," she said.
Mrs Brewster said the club not only wanted avid gardeners to give it a go, but hoped it would also foster a love of gardening in the younger generation, with a special competition for them.
"We’re trying to encourage the public and children to come and give it a go.
"Children can make vegetable creations, animals or creatures of whatever, and exhibit three assorted pieces of vegetables.
"Mitre 10 have donated a vege pod and we thought we’d supplement that with a bag of compost and some seeds, so that’s going to be a great prize for the lucky child that wins," she said.
The event starts at 8.30am for competitors and is open to the public from noon until 5pm for $2 a person. Children get in for free.
