A team of seven New Zealanders travelled to Perth to take part in the event including Disc Golf South members and siblings, Ethan, Nicola and Levi Stout.
Nicola said the championships were a match play event so it was a little different from usual stroke play.
"Twenty three countries competed with New Zealand finishing in eighth place.
"This meant that we earned a qualifying spot for the World Games 2025 to be held in China," she said.
The team also claimed the Spirit Award which was awarded to the team with the most points given to them by their opposing teams, Nicola said.
On the same weekend, 14-year-old Alison Tweedie cleaned up at the Moonbase X Twizel 2024 New Zealand South Island Championships and nabbed the FA1 Women's Amateur 1 title.
Disc Golf South president Jonny Ferrari said: "Earlier this year we had wee Alison return from the junior worlds getting sixth place so that was awesome."
The Southland club had been busy not only winning on the international and domestic stages but also succeeding in completing club projects, he said.
Disc Golf South is close to installing a new course at Elizabeth Park in Invercargill and has recently held one-day events to raise awareness about the disc golf venture.
"It’s been our mission to get this new course going down in the south end of Elizabeth Park.
"Hopefully it will get more people interested in the sport and they'll come down and have a go," Ferrari said.
