The image of a lamb enjoying a summer swing on a tyre was captured by Monica Homes, winning her the 2020 Otago Daily Times Magic Moments photo competition.
The 24-year-old, of Dunedin, took the winning snapshot of Lamington the lamb in North East Valley this year.
"I was with my 4-year-old niece Scarlett and texted my friend about whether she would be able to meet his lamb.
"It was an amazing wee lamb, very smart.
"Lamington ended up sort of herding my niece around and running laps around us. I have some very funny videos of her being herded.
She said Lamington had been on a swing before and enjoyed it.
"So I picked it up and put it in the swing and it was there for about 10 minutes quite happily.
"My niece had a real giggle about it."
Ms Homes said she had always loved photography.
"I’ve been taking photos since I was 4 years old.
She had not won a competition for her photography before.
"It’s amazing to have won, it’s great."
Second prize was won by Megan Turner, of Dunedin, who photographed Miss Floss the dog, ready to play.
Third place went to Graham Fisher, of Christchurch, who photographed Isla Fisher (14) jumping for joy on St Clair Beach while on a family holiday in Dunedin.
More than 280 photos were entered in the Magic Moments photography competition, 140 of which were published in the Otago Daily Times.
First prize was a Photo Warehouse $250 product voucher, second prize was an A3 Realphotos full canvas image of their photo and third prize was a copy of Stephen Jaquiery's Focused: A Life Behind The Lens book.
