In a statement, Kiwibank said it was working towards creating a more specialised banking service, and might include different trading hours.
General manager, retail distribution, Geoff Waller said Kiwibank had introduced several stand-alone branches around the country in the past three years, from which it had received positive feedback from customers.
The bank intended to remain in the same location in Ardmore St and there would be no change to the current branch and services until New Zealand Post found a local business to help deliver postal and bill payment services to the area.
