Final school day for Wānaka principal

Wānaka Primary School staff and wellwishers surround Dr Wendy Bamford (centre) who has retired after 20 years as principal of the school and 50 years in education.

The farewell ceremony opened and closed with a haka from the pupils.

In between there were skits and songs performed in her honour before she walked out of her last assembly with a tear in her eye.
