Big demand for children's books

Organisers say all books were selling well but children's books were the big favourite on the first day of the 26th Wanaka Rotary Book Sale yesterday in the Lake Wanaka centre.

Convener Mike Elliot said more than 5000 books had been donated to the club and were on sale at ``bargain prices'' over the three-day spring event.

The book sale was one of Wanaka Rotary's biggest fundraisers of the year and all proceeds would be used for Wanaka community projects, he said. The sale will end tomorrow.
