A shop manager has described hearing a huge bang as a car was accidentally driven into a window of her business in Invercargill this afternoon.
Andrea Wilkinson, manager of the Four Square Supermarket Ascot in Tay St, said staff and shoppers were shocked when the car hit the window.
She said it appeared the driver of the car, an elderly woman, stepped on the accelerator instead of the brake.
Emergency services arrived at the scene around 3.15pm and the woman was taken to Southland Hospital with moderate injuries, a police spokesperson said.
The extent of the damage to the shop was not known.
