A missing tramper in the Fiordland area has been found safe and well today.
The man went missing from a tramping party last night, and a search and rescue operation with a helicopter was launched this morning, the Dunedin district command police centre said in a statement.
''After being unable to locate the individual last night, search and rescue staff was able to locate the tramper today and reunite them with the rest of the tramping party.
''Police would like to thank those search and rescue staff members involved during this operation.''
