A scattering of animal remains were visible on an Invercargill beach yesterday.

Located a few hundred metres from the beach entrance, the graphic scene appeared to be dumped body parts of a deer.

Numerous deer parts littered the sand, and they were not intact.

Environment Southland was notified early afternoon and the remains were cleared soon after.
