A diver is in Southland Hospital after being rescued by Rescue Co-ordination Centre New Zealand.
A centre spokesman said the man was diving in Looking Glass Bay, Fiordland,when he surfaced and complained of symptoms of the bends.
Emergency services were called about 4.30pm and he was airlifted to Invercargill for treatment.
