A woman has died in a quad bike crash on a farm in the Catlins this afternoon.
Police confirmed in a statement the woman died after the quad bike rolled on a rural property in Chaslands, west of Papatowai.
Worksafe was advised and the death will be referred to the coroner, police said.
Emergency services rushed to the farm in the Catlins after the quad-bike rolled shortly before 4pm.
A police spokeswoman said Fire and Emergency New Zealand, St John, and local police, had been dispatched to the farm on Greenfield Rd, near Coleman Rd in the Chaslands area.
Fenz spokeswoman Lyn Crosson said crews from the Tokanui Volunteer Fire Brigade and the Papatowai Volunteer Rural Fire Force were on scene to assist police.
