The Red Bridge across the Clutha River at Luggate will be closed from 9am to 3pm today.
A spokesman for the New Zealand Transport Agency said the closure was so repairs could be carried out as part of the bridge's regular maintenance and inspection cycle.
A detour is available via Hawea Flat.
