The road between Te Anau and Milford Sound reopened yesterday morning after being closed by two large slips on Monday morning.
New Zealand Transport Authority Southland area manager Peter Robinson said the road was opened at 10.30am, though repairs to damaged pavement was still being carried out in some areas.
A Te Anau police spokesperson said there had been no traffic problems on the road since it was reopened.
