Kaitangata District Promotions spokesman Evan Dick said the interest generated in the sales was also having a flow-on effect to other property on the market.
"There's been a lot of overseas interest, in particular from Brits, skilled people, who are looking for somewhere safe to bring up their family, and Kai is safe.''
Mr Dick said prices for the next group of sections would remain at a "realistic'' level.
"This isn't Queenstown or Wanaka.''
An Australian television channel was filming in the town at the weekend and he expected more overseas interest after that footage was screened.
"At the end of the day, we'll see how the next round of sections goes. We're pleased the first lot have sold and turned all that hype into reality. The publicity was great - you can't beat a bit of positivity about the place,'' he said.
Property consultant Margot Berney said five sections were on the market now.
"They're brilliant sections, all different, one riverside, some with wonderful elevated views.''
Another six sections, Clutha District Council-owned ones, were likely to go on the market within the next couple of weeks, to add to the mix, she said.
"We went into this [land-house package deal] process saying if we had five new houses built because of it, we'd be happy. Well, we'll almost double that so far.''
Mrs Berney said the flow-on benefit from the publicity about the first group of sections had generated interest in other properties for sale throughout the wider district.
"Absolutely, district-wide it's had an impact.''
