Dunedin man killed in crash near Waihola

The person killed in a crash near Waihola yesterday afternoon was a 67-year-old Dunedin man.

The one-vehicle crash, on Henley Rd, near Taieri Ferry Rd, was reported about 1:45pm.

Emergency services including a helicopter responded.

Senior Sergeant Anthony Bond, of Dunedin, today confirmed the man died at the scene after his vehicle went off the road.

His death has been referred to the coroner.

Inquiries are ongoing, Snr Sgt Bond said.
