Work on dental clinic starts soon

Construction of a dental clinic at the new $21 million Wanaka Primary School at Scurr Heights will begin next month.

Principal Dr Wendy Bamford said the one-chair clinic would be capable of servicing between 10 and 20 patients a day.

It would be used by pupils from across the Upper Clutha, including the Holy Family and Hawea Flat primary schools and Mt Aspiring College, she said.

It is a result of the $116 million Ministry of Health boost to community oral health services announced in March.
