Snowsports: Making most of the last of the ski season

    The Remarkables held a Mini Shred series over the weekend and several young up-and-coming boarders and skiers made the most of the last of the ski season.

    Coronet Peak also played host to an event over the weekend, Summer Daze.

    Activities at the summer-themed day included a pond skim, mocktail race, sausage sizzle and free lemonade stand.

    Results of the Remarkables Mini Shred were:

    Boys ski under-12: Rohan Key 32 points, 1; Jordie Hawkins 31, 2; Jamie Shaw 26, 3; Zaryd Shaw 22, 4.

    Boys snowboard under-12: Samuel McKechnie 28, 1; Anru Wakushima 27, 2; Charlie Hawkins 26, 3; Ethan Cruise 24, 4.

    Boys Snowboard under-14: Ryusei Wakushima 30, 1; Ryan Clark 21, 2.

    Girls ski under-12: Mia Shaw 34, 1.

    Girls snowboard under-12: Cool Wakashima 32, 1.
