Triathlon competitors Maria Turner and Kris Barrs became engaged on Tuesday when Mr Barrs proposed to Miss Turner at the finish line.
Lake Hayes Christmas Triathlon winners Nicky Samuels (28), of Wanaka, and Robert Huisman (19), of Invercargill, are all smiles.
The Lake Hayes Christmas triathlon was held on Tuesday at the showgrounds, with impressive performances by winners Robert Huisman, of Invercargill, and Nicky Samuels, of Wanaka. The highlight of the day, however, was the engagement of one Queenstown couple at the finish line. Olivia Caldwell was there to capture the moment.
