Police are still considering whether to lay charges over a fatal accident near Queenstown four months ago.
Police media spokesman Nic Barclay, of Wellington, confirmed police had finished the investigation into the death of US tourist Richard Phillip Hyde (73), of Massachusetts, who died when a bus reversed into him at Mt Nicholas Station on April 16.
Police would now review the information to determine if any charges would be laid.
Mr Hyde was on a farm tour with tourism firm Southern Discoveries.
Southern Discoveries chief executive Tim Hunter said the driver had returned to work but was not on driving duties.
The company had since installed reversing cameras on its buses and changed its operating procedures, aimed at minimising reversing manoeuvres.
