Name suppression for man accused over fatal Queenstown crash

The man charged in relation to a car crash which killed Queenstown resident Noelene Tait (84) last Tuesday has been remanded to appear in the Queenstown District Court next week.

The 29-year-old tourist, whose address is listed as the Kawarau Hotel, has been granted interim name suppression.

He faces three charges - careless driving causing injury to Glen Cherry, careless driving causing injury to his passenger, a 30-year-old woman, careless driving causing Mrs Tait's death, all dated January 14.

The maximum penalty on the charges is three months' imprisonment, or a $4500 fine.

He is expected to appear on January 27.
