Police were called to Malaghans Rd in Arrowtown, opposite Remarkable Vets, at 4.45pm today after reports a car had gone off the road.
The car was left badly damaged after leaving the road, rolling down a bank and into a paddock.
Fire and Emergency New Zealand, along with St John were called to the scene.
The road was not blocked by the incident.
The driver has been transported to Queenstown Medical Centre.
