Once again, the notorious Remarkable Men’s Ballet have formed to entertain and delight as part of this year’s Christmas Show — being staged at 1pm and 5pm on Sunday.
Craig ‘Ferg’ Ferguson says the nine-strong troupe this year features two new faces — volunteer firey Jake Neaves and one newbie they’ve had in mind for a while, former mayor Vanessa van Uden’s husband, Peter Laurenson.
While, as usual, staying tight-lipped about what the audiences have to look forward to this year, Ferguson confirms it’ll be a shorter piece — "a good game’s a quick game" — and they’ll be dressed as presents.
"The tutus are gone, and that’s still a bit of a sore point — a devastating blow that we don’t quite understand — but we move ahead.
"The job is always to entertain the younger ones, and those that gather for the shows.
"We’re not going be perfect — we strive to be perfect, but that’s never going to happen."
Ferguson confirms due to roadworks, the location of their traditional flashmob is being relocated this year.
"Obviously with the construction on Ballarat St we can’t entertain the thousands that throng there the Friday before the show."
Those on Earnslaw Park about 6pm tomorrow, however, might be in for a treat.
