Queenstown-headquartered Colliers Otago’s splashed $160,000 among five community organisations following a fundraising luncheon earlier this year.

Running since 2011, the annual Colliers Latitude 45 South Lunch, held this time at Greenstone Station, near Glenorchy, is attended by some of the property services company’s key clients.

The money raised this year has gone to Glenorchy Early Learning Centre, Life Education Trust Heartland Otago Southland, Wakatipu High School Foundation, Graeme Dingle Foundation and Otago Hospice.

"It’s a privilege for Colliers Otago to be able to assist with the great work being done by these organisations who make a real difference in people’s lives," managing director John Scobie says.

Jo Malcolm-Black, Graeme Dingle Foundation’s CEO, says the support they’ve received "enables us to continue running our positive youth development programmes, building confidence and skills in tamariki and rangatahi to ensure they are empowered to overcome life’s obstacles and succeed".

Sarah Fredric, Life Education Trust’s regional executive officer, says the support allows them to subsidise the cost of providing high-quality life education to schools.

"Alongside Harold, the giraffe, our qualified educators teach nutrition, emotional resilience, stress management strategies, social relationship topics such as healthy friendships and cyber safety, and information about substances and how our body and brain respond to them."
