Established in partnership with NZ Winegrowers, the award celebrates the finest wine tourism cellar door experiences across the country.
The judges noted the specific ways Kinross has improved its tourism and hospo offerings, including engaging cultural advisers to craft tailored experiences.
Judges also found their dedication to staff wellbeing was clear.
One of the judges, NZ Herald lifestyle and travel editor Stephanie Holmes, says Kinross came out on top due to its comprehensive entry which painted a "clear picture" of the business, its values and how they’re put into practice.
"Kinross offers a world-class experience, while still retaining a unique ‘only in NZ’ wow-factor," Holmes says.
Kinross chief executive Nicky Sygrove says being recognised at that level’s a testament to her team, and their wine partners — Coal Pit, Hawkshead, High Garden, Valli, and Wild Irishman.
"Providing a world-class guest experiences is at the core of everything we do.
"Central Otago is home to some of the finest wines in the world, and we are honoured to represent our region with this award."
As part of their award, Kinross receives a complimentary one-year Qualmark membership, a Tourism New Zealand (TNZ) press media kit featuring their profile will be shared with all TNZ offshore markets, and a feature post on TNZ's social media channels.
