She spoke at a joint Queenstown Chamber of Commerce and Queenstown Performing Arts Centre Trust Women in Business lunch, where she talked about her career and "practising spontaneity", or the benefits of being in the moment.
She addressed a packed room at restaurant Bazaar.
Ms van Beek’s hit film The Breaker Upperers was recently picked up by streaming giant Netflix, and she has also appeared in Taiki Waititi’s hit vampire mockumentary What We Do In The Shadows.
