Being held on November 23 at Peregrine Winery, which is donating the venue, Fashion in the Vines features collections by fashion designer Dame Trelise Cooper and footwear designer Kathryn Wilson, followed by live entertainment from Sweet Mix Kids.
It’s hoped $100,000-plus will be raised for Breast Cancer Cure (BCC), which is organising the event.
Hosted by BCC ambassadors Petra Bagust and Wilhelmina Shrimpton, the event begins with a $1000-a-head VIP meet-and-greet with the designers and a chat with Peregrine’s winemaker.
Fashion in the Vines, Cooper says, "not only celebrates style but also strengthens our commitment to supporting Breast Cancer Cure and working towards a cancer-free future for New Zealand women".
Cooper, who’s supported the charity for 15 years, says she’ll be showcasing her latest summer collection alongside an archive section featuring pieces from 25 years ago.
Wilson, who’s featured her collections at past local fundraisers, says "we are set to have a memorable event with fashion, wine, cocktails, dancing and an impressive auction lineup, all for a good cause".
Peregrine Wines CEO Fraser McLachlan notes breast cancer’s "sadly indiscriminate, affecting one in nine women in NZ".
"It is therefore a cause that is close to home for our Peregrine family, and we are happy to contribute to the noble efforts to battle this disease."
