Police are looking for the driver of a vehicle that crashed into a tree on the Glenorchy-Queenstown Rd near Sunshine Bay this morning.
Senior Sergeant Paula Enoka, of Queenstown, said the vehicle was found just after 4am about 1.5km west of the One Mile roundabout.
The driver had left the scene before police arrived.
"We don't know if anyone else was in the vehicle.''
Police believed they knew who the driver was, and were following up with the vehicle's registered owner, Snr Sgt Enoka said.
"We want to make sure every occupant of that vehicle is accounted for and are not injured.''
