New bus stops and shelters, which had taken about a month to construct, have been put in place on either side of Stanley St - outside Liquor King and Queenstown Playcentre - for buses servicing Fernhill, Remarkables Park and Queenstown Airport and Arthurs Point and Arrowtown, via Frankton.
An additional stop had been created outside the Queenstown Courthouse for passengers travelling to Arthurs Point.

Existing stops, outside O'Connells and, on the opposite side of the street, near the Village Green, would be decommissioned and revert to loading zones.
NZ Transport Agency regional relationships director Jim Harland believed the new stops would lead to an improved level of service and, given the highly visible location, should encourage increased patronage on the $2 Orbus network.
The service was launched almost two years ago and since there had been steady growth in passenger numbers - up 64% - compared with 2017-18, and almost 1.5 million passenger trips in Queenstown in the last year.
