In this week's Join The Club, feature Christina McDonald talks to June King about the start of the second year of table tennis in Queenstown.
After five years of trying to set up weekly table tennis games in Queenstown, June King succeeded and tomorrow the second winter season begins.
Before the club was established in Queenstown, players travelled to Cromwell each week, and now an annual match between the two clubs is hotly contested.
Ms King, who has played more than 100 games of table tennis for Southland, secured St Margaret's Church Hall in Frankton on Wednesday nights from 7pm-9pm.
She said Otago Table Tennis gave the club four roll-away tables. Children must be accompanied by a guardian, some bats are available and the cost is $5 per person, per night.
