Two Australian brothers ended up in hospital after one glassed the other in a Queenstown bar last night.
Sergeant Steve Watt, of Queenstown police, said a 27-year-old man struck his 24-year-old brother in the face with a glass in a Queenstown Mall bar about 11.30pm.
The attack caused "major lacerations" to the victim's cheek and near an eye.
The attacker, who cut his hand in the process, then tried to run out of the bar, but was restrained by staff members.
He was arrested after being treated at Lakes District Hospital.
Sgt Watt said he understood the younger brother spent the night in hospital.
The arrested man is expected to appear in the Queenstown District Court on Monday charged with wounding with intent.
