In this week's Off Piste, Coronet Peak maintenance electrician Wesley Sayer describes his first experience with NZSki.

Name: Wesley Sayer.

Job title: Coronet Peak maintenance electrician.

Q) Where are you from?

A) Taranaki, North Island.

Q) How many seasons have you done in the job and why did you choose it?

A) First season. Just got back from two seasons in Canada, saw the job advertised and was all over it.

Q) How would you describe the work?

A) It's interesting and fun. I have wicked crew to work with, all of whom have proven themselves to be mountain heroes!

Q) What's the best thing about it?

A) Perks! Ski pass, breakfast burgers, and the hot chicks in F&B.

Q) And the worst thing?

A) The early starts.

Q) How are you settling in to life in Queenstown?

A) It's sick here! I've only been here two months but already got a sweet crew to go riding with and made plenty of friends.

Q) What's the best advice you have for someone moving to Queenstown for seasonal work?

A) Work for NZSki for sure.

Q) What has been your most amusing skifield experience to date?

A) On my birthday in Canada we made a big kicker and set up a barbecue in the snow.

Made for a lot of laughs!
