Mr Clark is the chief executive of Rugby Southland and although he began his Warbirds chief executive role immediately, he will continue working for Rugby Southland.
Mr Clark will visit Wanaka regularly but does not intend to move to town permanently at this stage, Ms Deans said this week.
Ms Deans is a former Wellington businesswoman. She has lived in Wanaka for about two years.
She works at Infinity Ltd in a business planning and administrative support role to director John Beattie and financial manager John Hogg.
She begins working for Warbirds as its events manager from October 1.
Her first job will be to find and establish a permanent office for the organisation.
The Warbirds Over Wanaka Community Trust decided in May to restructure the biennial event and create a separate Wanaka office.
Former general manager Gavin Johnston had run the airshow from Christchurch for many years and had used Alpine Deer Group's office at Wanaka Airport whenever he visited.
Mr Johnston retired after declining to seek the new Wanaka-based position.
Trust chairman Garth Hogan of Wanaka said in a statement he was excited to appoint Mr Clark.
He was "an experienced CEO with a strong background in event management", Mr Hogan said.
Mr Clark had suggested the organisation appoint an events manager in his proposal to the trust.
Ms Deans was an "experienced campaigner" and would be an asset to the Warbirds team, Mr Hogan said.
Warbirds Over Wanaka was founded by aviation identity Sir Tim Wallis and has been running for 20 years.
It is held every second Easter at Wanaka Airport and has become a significant economic earner for the Upper Clutha community.
Former executive officer Graeme Ramshaw of Dunedin has now been appointed to the trust, alongside Mr Hogan, Bill Gordon of Omarama, Murray Cleverly of Timaru, Stephen Grant of Dunedin and Ray Mulqueen of Wanaka.
