Two tourist drivers had their rental contracts cancelled after repeatedly straying over the centre line on Queenstown roads at the weekend.
Police stopped a Chinese driver on the Frankton-Ladies Mile Highway on Friday at 4.45pm after he was seen to stray over the centre line.
He had previously received an infringement notice for the same offence, so officers contacted his rental firm which cancelled the contract.
The second tourist driver, an Indian man, was stopped near Kingston, on State Highway 6, at 6.30pm the same day.
He had been observed by police repeatedly crossing the centre line and officers deemed his driving poor enough to contact his rental firm.
In both cases, the tourists were escorted to Queenstown Police Station.
• On Saturday, at 7am, a Chinese driver who lives locally rolled his car after sliding on gravel on the Arrowtown to Lake Hayes road.
Inquiries are continuing and he may face charges.
