Grand Mercure St Moritz in Queenstown won the visitor accommodation category for the fourth time.
The 144-room alpine lodge styled hotel was a first-time entrant and winner in 2002, with subsequent wins in 2003 and 2004.
Shotover Canyon Swing won the prize in the Adventure Activity sub-category.
Real Journeys took home the New Zealand Trade and Enterprise Export Award.
Skydive Lake Wanaka Ltd won the Small Tourism Operator award.
St Moritz was judged on its leadership, strategic planning, customer and market focus, analysis and knowledge management, plus workforce focus, process management and business results.
General manager Lynne McVicar said: "To receive this award in our 10th year is testament to the immense belief and commitment in the hotel from so many.
The award coincided with the completion of a major refurbish-ment earlier this year.
Shotover Canyon Swing general manager Matt Hollyer said it was important to stand out in the adventure tourism industry to survive, when accepting the win in the Adventure Activity sub-category.
"Our team of 23 staff is committed to delivering the best experience in New Zealand," he said.
"We rely on word of mouth and support from the industry. Our customers only keep turning up on our doorstep because they've heard from others that we give them a damn good time."
South Island tourism operator Real Journeys chief executive Dave Hawkey dedicated the Export Award to Les Hutchins, "a man who was both a tourism visionary and a passionate advocate for the environment".
"When they founded Real Journeys in 1954, Les and Olive Hutchins had a vision of sharing Fiordland's pristine wilderness with visitors from around the world.
Fifty-four years on, the business is now one of the leading players in New Zealand's tourism industry."
One of the criteria for the award was the percentage of earnings that come from export operations and more than 70% of Real Journeys customers were international visitors.
Skydive Lake Wanaka owners Dave and Jools Hall said they were thrilled to receive the Small Tourism Operator Award, the highest within their industry.
"Winning this award is an immense credit to our passionate team," she said.
Mrs Hall said the company would use the award "as a platform to build on for the future, as a stand-out operator in Lake Wanaka and the South Island".
