Queenstown residents and visitors woke up to an unseasonal sight this morning - a dusting of snow on the peaks of the Wakatipu basin, including the Remarkables.
The temperature fell to single digits overnight, the latest instance of highly changeable weather this summer in the resort, and the forecast will not give sun worshippers much cheer as rain is predicted for most of next week from Sunday.
