The St Joseph's Primary School board of trustees will present the school's three-year plan to parents tonight as part of a "draft strategic plan".
Board chairwoman Gigi Hollyer said the board's strategic subcommittee had been working on the plan for some time and would like suggestions from parents.
The board would also like input on the school's proposed secondary site at Speargrass Flat.
Some residents are concerned over an urban scale, non-residential development in the rural area, saying the school project goes against the council's plans and policies.
The Environment Court decision to grant resource consent for the proposed two-stage development of a 112-pupil school has been appealed to the High Court.
Mrs Hollyer told the Otago Daily Times last month the new school project was being driven by the Dunedin-based Catholic Education Office.
She said the Speargrass Flat site was still in the school's long-term plans.
"We have put that in as part of looking to the future, but that is definitely in our plan," she said of the new site.
While tonight's fish and chip evening would provide DVD entertainment for the children, Mrs Hollyer said the board wanted to get parent feedback on the outlook for the next three years.
The board would be seeking input on the four "strategic objectives", which are to engage pupils and families in learning, to promote and celebrate the school's Catholic character, to grow a positive culture and to plan a future.
"We will have a workshop format to check our draft strategic plan with parents and seek their feedback and if there is anything we missed."
Miss Hollyer said it was important for parents to get along to the school from 5.30pm.
"This is your chance to have some input."
