There are hopes the Remarkables will be smoke-free on Sunday.
The Cancer Society, Southern PHO and Uruuruwhenua Health will be on the mountain offering information and smoking cessation advice to those thinking about quitting.
"We're hoping staff and visitors to the Remarkables won't light up for the day to consider positive role-modelling to children on the slopes, make it a nicer environment to ski and to reduce the amount of cigarette litter in the snow," Southern PHO health promotion co-ordinator Sarah Berger said.
