The Studio Pilates and Physiotherapists' inaugural Run Like A Girl programme, held in autumn, was such a success the pro-gramme will be released nationally next year.

Owner Louise Parker said 63 women enrolled for the six-session programme earlier this year, with $550 raised for the Pink Pilates Trust, which is a New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation partner.

Ms Parker said she hoped to attract 100 women to each session, aiming to raise $5000 from the programme, with the money raised put directly back into Queenstown to help breast-cancer survivors.

"[The national organisation] will put those funds directly into women in Queenstown.

We raised $550 last time, which was pretty good.

We've got the structure right, but now we need to up the fundraising."

The Run Like A Girl programme teaches women how to "fine tune" their running posture, stabilise their core to prevent injuries, educates them on what footwear and orthotics they need and how to "turbo-charge" their lungs by breathing correctly.

The programme will be taken by Ms Parker, podiatrist Gareth Milne, running technicians Amanda Kisby and Elias Lilo and naturopath Emma Pearce.

The first session will be held on September 29 at 6pm in the Queenstown Gardens, with each session costing $10.
