By yesterday afternoon, the council had received about 45 submissions on plan changes 29 - which discusses a proposed urban growth boundary for Arrowtown - and 30, which looks at an urban growth boundary for the district.
Residents and interested parties have until 5pm today to have their say on the proposed changes.
Last year, residents conducted an informal poll asking the community if it wanted to see the town expand beyond its current boundary.
There were 420 responses, 97% of which said no.
Following another mailbox drop this year, the residents' group was overwhelmed with the response, with 493 of the 508 responses supporting plan change 29 - leaving the Arrowtown boundary tight.
Resident Jo Saxby said there would be a final collection of the yellow forms at 3pm today.
Forms are available from the Village Dairy and at the Post Office, with collection boxes at both outlets.
Resident Peter Roberts said what was "extraordinary" about the long-running process was it had been driven the entire way by Mia Bennie and a small group of other residents.
"They've put $10 in here, $20 in there to get more forms printed off.
"It's such a big commitment . . . and we're still fighting.
"It's going to be very, very difficult . . . to expand Arrowtown.
"We won't let them," Mr Roberts said.
QLDC senior policy analyst Mark Rushworth said he had "no idea what's going to be in store for us" by the end of business.
While he had not done any comprehensive analysis of the submissions received, the majority seemed to be in support of the plan change as proposed.
"It's not 100% in support, but there seems to be a pretty good number that are comfortable with it and a few others that are seeking changes here and there."
Once submissions close this afternoon, the responses would be summarised and opened for comment from those who made them.
Plan change 29 would then go to a public hearing.
"We'll know more a little bit down the track, but it's all going well. We've got [submissions] coming in and we'll see what comes in [today]," Mr Rushworth said.
