Following the major redevelopment of Coronet Peak's base building - as part of a $30 million summer upgrade in 2008 - a similar upgrade for the Remarkables Ski Area, is "being looked at", NZSki says.

Remarkables Ski Area manager Ross Lawrence told the Queenstown Times an upgrade for the base building is under consideration.

"We are certainly looking at those sort of things, and we're always looking to provide the best possible improvements, but there is nothing confirmed at the moment," he said.

The consideration follows NZSki plans revealed yesterday to start major development works on around 4.725ha of land in the Remarkables Ski Area.
